Dylan Kwon is one of the main characters in Tobot: Daedo's Heroes and the Tobot series. He is Limo's adoptive son and the co-pilot of Tobot Z (along with Hansoo)

He is not exactly the friendliest guy, nor the most talkative. He was in a car accident when he was younger, which gave him two robotic prosthetics. Dylan's biological parents are unknown. He is part of the first three Tobot Pilots, which involve Tobots X, Y, and Z.

He is possibly the only Tobot Pilot in the Retrobot Tobot Continuity that did not incubate his Tobot's Mind Core (in this case, Tobot Z's). Although Z's Mind Core was incubated by Limo Kwon, it is shown that Tobot Z obeys mostly Dylan's orders.

Appearance[]

In early seasons, Dylan wears a dark red and white hoodie with blue pants and dark red and white sneakers. His smart key is a watch that he wears on his left wrist. His hair is dark brown and somewhat messy.

In later seasons, Dylan instead wears a white hoodie with a dark red stripe, with blue jeans and white, blue, and green shoes. He also wears a pair of blue and white earphones with red stars around his neck.

Dylan has violet eyes, a trait he is most identified with. He also has thicker eyebrows than the other characters.

Personality[]

Dylan was very distant and antisocial during his first appearances, often preferring to be by himself. Though he hid it, he sometimes struggled with indecision and could be manipulated easily. He was jealous of the Char brothers, their Tobots, and their easy life. Dylan was also brainwashed by Diluk Octavius and primarily Acnee during the first half of the first season to believe that Franklin Char was one of the driving reasons his father was incarcerated. This led to an internal crisis of who to believe, but in the end it required stumbling upon Diluk's hoaxing operation (and as a result falling off of a roof and onto the car below; but that's another story) for Dylan to finally understand the truth.

Dylan mellows out after the events of mid-Season 1, and is more open and willing to take parts of conversations. He is more decisive, and some of his cheek and biting comments are replaced with light teasing and "the truth hurts" conversation. Dylan is still not as talkative as, say, Kory Char, but it is a large difference to his loner attitude from earlier Season 1. He is still relatively shy about singing, dancing, or other types of performing in public.

Throughout the entire series, it is shown that Dylan is an excellent liar, even more so than other characters, and observant of his surroundings.

Relationships[]

Limo Kwon[]

Limo is Dylan's adoptive father; he was also driving the car that hit Dylan. Limo adopted Dylan after finding out he was an orphan (although the timeline from that part of backstory is quite muddled, this is what is presumed). Limo is extremely protective of Dylan to the point of near insanity, as seen in the Tobot: Attack of the Robot Force movie, in which Limo is willing to attempt to swim across an entire bay to get to Dylan until stopped by his rescuer.

It is revealed that the reason Tobot Zero and Tobot Z respect, protect, and listen to Dylan's orders is due to the incubation of both under Limo's care; Limo loves Dylan so much that Limo's fatherly love for Dylan managed to manifest in the Tobots themselves. This is seen in several other Tobots as well (both Tobot X and Tobot Y respect and love Franklin Char as well as his late wife, just like Ryan and Kory do) but this is possibly the most extreme case as well as one of the only cases that involve the Pilot themselves.

Others[]

  • Ryan: He and Ryan are quite close, especially when they have to deal with the trouble Kory caused.
  • Kory: They form a team in Season 2 and they both like to do physical work.
  • Nathan: They are teammates and usually help each other, epspecially when X - Y was captured and Ryan - Kory can't do anything.
  • Dolly:Dylan and Dolly are classmates. Dolly often compliments Dylan as handsome, making Dylan surprised many times by that, but when Dolly complimented Tom Fuse on dressing like a movie star, Dylan felt uncomfortable, saying that Tom Fuse didn't look like at all. When Franklin Char and Limo Kwon wanted to create Dolly a tobot to protect Dolly, While Kory and Ryan were against it, Dylan agreed but couldn't say it. Dylan is also worried about Dolly when she plans to find more information about acnee himself, Dylan said it was quite difficult for Dolly, Dolly argued why people don't believe her, Franklin Char told Dolly that Dylan was only worried about her because she was too focused on the computer, Dylan said it was true and Kory joked with Ryan that Dolly had a boyfriend. Later we see Dolly and Dylan often often go together in some scenes, Dolly was the one who proactively helped Dylan find Limo Kwon after he was detained by Angela. Dylan also cares about Dolly's feelings, when Kory said that tobot D is in trouble because she favored the core over Norman, it made Dolly regret it and she cried, Dylan looked at Kory with an upset expression. When he accidentally made Dolly cry because Dylan, Ryan and Kory moved house (actually, Dolly pretended to cry to deceive Dylan). Dylan apologized to Dolly for that. Dylan also feels guilty for interrupting Dolly phone call with him(from Tobot Z). Dylan was the first to come to the rescue when Dolly called for help and when Dolly tries to save Norman from the octopus robot, him also runs to help Dolly. Perhaps Dylan and Dolly both of them fall in love with each other , several scenes have hinted at it, the two are often tagged or mentioned together in photos and official websites, such as the official Facebook page. Tobot posted a photo of the two characters set in Everland and an article saying it was a date between Semo(Dylan) and Dinyo(Dolly). and they went on a date in Everland.
